My glass room with a deck right in front of the lake….would have been perfect to set up the tripod and sit inside to wait for sunrise.

So cold that I didn’t even take off my down jacket inside the restaurant! Even the chef and his wife were all bundled up inside the kitchen!

After checking out the Middle and the Lower Ranwu Lake, we headed for a quick visit to the Midui Glacier (米堆冰川). Midui Glacier is a Tibet type marine glacier and the world’s lowest glacier with the snow line only 4,600 meters above sea level. To honest it was not impressive nor very beautiful so I have no idea why it is lauded as one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China by the China National Geographic. Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina is a thousand times more impressive. So the advice is don’t waste your time or money on Midui Glacier.
There is the option of riding or walking to Midui Glacier.

This is it – Midui Glacier. I was like umm where is the glacier exactly?
From here we continue our journey to Lhasa. Stay tuned!

Beautiful pictures Beatrice. We loved visiting Tibet but didn’t see this area. Maggie
Thank you! This eastern part is known for its wild peach blossoms.
