Xinjiang: Red Stone Forest, Oct 2024

My Xinjiang photo guide is all about finding off-the-grid places for us to photograph.  Near Kuche is a Red Stone Forest area being developed right now into a scenic area.  The series of red mountains are formed by wind, rain erosion, and flash floods over the millennia.   My guide brought a box of pears for the manager of the scenic area so that we can gain access.  Pity it was an overcast day and we didn’t get to experience its full splendour.
